My Perfect Weekend... |
|
| If you're looking for the perfect place to spend a romantic weekend with your husband, then head to Sarasota. I recently spent a weekend with my husband there, and boy, we really had a great time. As soon as we arrives, we proceeded to Super 8 Motel, since it is just a walk from all the other nice places that Sarasota has to offer. But before embarking on our exciting weekend, my husband and I took a dip at the motel's pool. It was big enough so I was able to make 3 laps. Not bad for a motel, huh? After that, we had an early dinner, since we got in Sarasota mid afternoon, at Mak's Chinese Restaurant. My husband and I were craving for something Oriental, so we ordered their Tom Yum soup, a delightful creation of a lemony broth with chicken and lots of onions topped with cilantro. It was really tasty. We also had the General Tso's Chicken and a Thai dish called "Awesome Bangkok". Both were out of this world. Yum! Still full from that food feat we had, we proceeded to Sarasota Jungle Gardens. There, we got to hang out with almost all kinds of animals, native or exotic. It was a real exciting experience! We also had fun watching their daily shows. We were able to see the Reptile Encounter, and I was able to have a picture taken with the python! Really fun experience. The next day, my husband surprised me with a breakfast in bed, which was made possible by the motels in house chef! I had my daily fix of pancakes, which is my favorite, and it was really tasty! After that, we went to Marie Selby Botanical Garden, which is just a few walks away from the motel. There, I was greeted with the lush green surrounding! Set on a lovely vista of Sarasota harbor one travels through a butterfly garden, a mangorve and baywalk, succlent garden, canopy walk, koi pond, hibiscus garden, conservatory and more. A day spent at Marie Selby is truly a lovely and delightful experience! For our last day in Sarasota, we visited this gallery named The John and Marble Ringling Museum of Art. There is truly something for everyone here. There is the art museum, the mansion, and the part that I really liked - the circus museum and the circus history center. It was both entertaining and educational. Deserves a second visit! We totally enjoyed our weekend in Sarasota. It's like having our second honey moon! Can't wait to have a repeat. I really fell in love with Sarasota! |
